Problem
- PT Sasa Inti required a fully integrated coconut-processing line capable of handling very high daily production volumes.
- The plant needed continuous product flow from raw coconut receiving through final packing.
- Hygienic food-grade processing and SS304 construction were important for product-contact areas.
- The drying section needed controlled temperature, airflow, and residence time for consistent product processing.
- The complete system needed to reduce manual handling while supporting high-throughput industrial production.
Proposed Solution
- Gem Drytech engineered and supplied a complete turnkey coconut-processing solution for Desiccated Coconut production.
- The front-end system included double-deck conveyors, nut counters, distribution systems, and more than 40 deshelling machines rated at 300 nuts/hr each.
- The wet-processing section incorporated a bubble washer, coconut-water recovery system, stainless-steel tanks, filtration, and heat-exchanger integration.
- White-meat slicers rated at up to 5 TPH and transfer conveyors were incorporated for controlled product preparation.
- The core drying system consisted of a 12 Module Combination Dryer with radiator and controlled hot-air circulation.
- Post-drying equipment included cooling, conveying, grading, magnetic separation, inspection, weighing, packing, sealing, and dispatch systems.
Result
- The plant was engineered for approximately 260,000 coconuts per day.
- The integrated process reduced dependence on manual material movement between production stages.
- The drying system provided controlled operating conditions with adjustable airflow and residence time.
- The complete line supported continuous product movement from raw coconut through finished packing.
- The installation provided PT Sasa Inti with an industrial-scale platform for high-capacity Desiccated Coconut production.
- The project demonstrated successful integration of multiple processing and drying technologies within one production line.
Conclusion
- The PT Sasa Inti project demonstrates Gem Drytech’s capability to engineer and execute large-scale coconut-processing projects requiring multiple integrated process stages.
- With a design capacity of approximately 260,000 nuts per day, the project highlights Gem Drytech’s ability to handle high-volume industrial coconut applications.
- The combination of material handling, wet processing, cutting, controlled drying, cooling, grading, and packing created a complete end-to-end processing solution.
